Pedestal Gin

Pedestal Gin was born from a hands- on creative journey that began with a hand-crafted bottle and evolved into a refined, digitally rendered design. Inspired by Father of the Bride and the quiet strength of a supportive father, I envisioned Pedestal as a gin that embodies selflessness and balance — a spirit designed to elevate without overpowering. By collaborating with a digital renderer, I was able to bring this vision to life, crafting a bottle that reflects Pedestal’s essence: dependable, versatile, and quietly essential to every exceptional cocktail.

ASSIGNMENT

Design, brand, and create a liquor bottle inspired by a strong visual or thematic motif from a favorite movie.
I chose Father of the Bride, where Steve Martin’s character, George Banks, struggles with the news that his only daughter is getting married.
George’s journey is about handling change, staying patient, and putting family first. Through all the chaos — from quirky wedding planners to meeting new in-laws — he becomes the quiet support his daughter needs.
The goal of this project is to capture that theme — change, patience, and unconditional love — in a visually compelling way.

THE RELIABLE BASE

In a world of flashy, over-the-top flavors, Pedestal Gin stands out by blending in. Never overwhelming or showy, Pedestal is the gin that lets other flavors take center stage, bringing out the best in bold, vibrant cocktails. It’s a selfless spirit- one that allows you to rise to the occasion with drinks that are as layered as they are refreshing. Dependable and versatile, Pedestal Gin ensures that your cocktail is elevated without distracting from your chosen flavors. With Pedestal, every sip is a reminder that true elegance lies in simplicity.

NEXT STEPS

Working with a digital renderer, I wanted to take this bottle to the next level and achieve a more polished look. I collaborated with the renderer, outlining the specifics of each element of the bottle from the stain of the stopper to the level of opacity for the frosted glass.
